I think I know where this goes wrong. Because you release on the 15th of every month, the time difference between releases isn't always a multiple of your outputdt (30 days). So some of the particles are already advected for a few days when the output writing is triggered. Note that the frequency of writing is controlled by outputdt for the whole particleset, not for each particle individually. This is an issue both for the repeatdt and the time=time_parcel approach.

Possible solutions are to release your particles every 30 days (instead of every month), or to set your outputdt to 1 day.

Hope this helps!

Sorry for late reply. Thank you very much for your help! I tried to release my particles every 30 days instead of every month and it worked. I have realized what the crux of the problem is.
