Our Linux CI builds are run against 22.04, so that's a bit puzzling.
- Are you on an unusual architecture?
- Are you running Wayland or X11, or a hybrid of the two?
- Did you ensure that you have the dependencies in COMPILING.md installed?

If you're willing to try compiling the unstable branch, I've synced the included FLTK with upstream as of this morning. That might also help your issue.

I was able to recreate this on Debian 12, and it looks like the installation of libx11-dev in addition to the other libraries listed in COMPILING.md solved the issue. If you're on Wayland, you'll have to ensure that the necessary packages are installed, as outlined in source_files/fltk/README.Wayland.txt.
