I was using NVIM 0.4.4
from nvchad.

Dont execute its install command in one line , try
git clone https://github.com/wbthomason/packer.nvim\
~/.local/share/nvim/site/pack/packer/start/packer.nvim
Open a new terminal with nvim and type :PackerInstall
It works for me : a video (https://share.vidyard.com/watch/woJ2XzFUPevtLZUrK4tdj6?)

Looks like packer is installed , I wonder why doesnt :PackerInstall work :(
