Do you mean .project and .classpath files (for Eclipse)? Different people use different IDEs. I decided not to bind the sources to exact IDE.

Sure, I didnt consider that (I know, stupid of me :)) I was just use to so many developers posting up their eclipse solutions

Also you don't need to create own project and import source.
In Eclipse do "File" -> "New" -> "Android project" -> "Create from existing source" and choose this project directory.
