Maybe cabal2nix should have a flag that enables this behavior in the generated output?
Alternatively, the generated expression could accept a function parameter to enable/disable that behavior.
This is already fixed, even though it changes current ad-hoc
behaviour. Only packages that don't provide libraries are
ghc-version-agnostic. So cabal.nix removes the ghc version just for
those. No need to reset fname anymore.

Yes. It should be automatic. Although there aren't many packages that don't also support libraries. Darcs, for example, does. I don't know if it'll be confusing to people if darcs becomes haskell-darcs-ghcSomething ...
