Updating git repository during build throws "failed to resolve address" error about naersk HOT 5 CLOSED

It seems like this was caused by using

        toolchain = (pkgs.rustChannelOf {
          rustToolchain = ./rust-toolchain.toml;
          sha256 = "";
          #        ^ After you run `nix build`, replace this with the actual
          #          hash from the error message
        }).rust;

and specifying [toolchain].channel = "nightly-2023-03-08" in rust-toolchain.toml. Using

        toolchain = (pkgs.rustChannelOf {
          date = "2023-03-08";
          channel = "nightly";
          sha256 = "zZaPUREtWgJuWSzlZh6Cf2u4jcxWfPzfrZEsM+L4GZo=";
        }).rust;

instead works.

Hmm, interesting!

If you're using Nix Flakes, are you sure you've got Cargo.lock committed into the repository as well, so that Naersk can see it?

I was testing this again and now I can't replicate it... weird. I'm not aware of doing anything different than before.
Maybe a hiccup on my end?

Possibly; I'm using Naersk with "external" patched dependencies myself (to a private GitLab instance) and everything works fine, so maybe it was just a temporary network issue 👀
