Hi!
Yes, this is a great feature. Thanks for suggesting it.

I think its implementation would require quite a lot of work and touch quite a number of spots across the codebase. If you want to go for it, go for it! otherwise, I'll implement it gladly.

Some considerations:

  • This feature should probably have its own flag, which I'll call (not final, of course) dedicated-index.
  • I think an error (or maybe a warning) should be thrown when the flag for this new feature is passed together with --flat.
  • Most of the work for this feature probably lies in the generateFiles() function.
  • The index file should be treated just like the other files regarding the overwrite flag.
  • The contents of the index file depend on whether the export-type is named or default.
  • The index file's path should also be included in the generatedPaths returned from generateFiles() and in variablePaths passed to and used in runPostCommand().
  • The final PR for this feature should be into the v1.3.0 branch, not the main branch.

What do you think?

Implemented in PR #31; this will be added to the next minor version of Agrippa, v1.3.0.

Thanks again for suggesting this feature!
