Each phone number is matched to each individual. To make such a system that a user can have multiple accounts, would require additional information which can result in privacy risks.

Implementation of such system will also be time consuming and tedious.

The best we can do right now is to avoid creating profiles for all phone numbers you have, just stick to your primary number.

In many households here a person can be seen using a primary and secondary device, with different phone numbers as well, in the current system both devices would show up as different users, it seems to me there should be a way to attach multiple devices to the same user, but it has it's own quirks as well...

It's a great idea but you don't know how some activists will start crying of privacy issues. Even today where there is clearly mentioned what information will be shared with government and what information are publicly available, then also personnel keep on raising concern of privacy issue.

So it's good to let it pass, instead of ending up another controversy.

Or better yet, why do you even need such an app on multiple devices?
