Hmm, good point. There isn't a rounding function for big.Rats, but you can use FloatString(prec int) which returns a string with prec digits of precision. Then read it back into a big.Rat with SetString(). I imagine you'd want to do this after every recalculation.

I'm worried about the small details of doing something like that, but we could pick something like 12 digits of accuracy.

I was thinking about converting the depth to a target (something we already have a function to do - Depth and Weight are the same type (BlockWeight)), and then converting the target back to a rational when doing the math.

The target would enforce a 256 bit maximum, and would hopefully also make it well defined to go back and forth.
