Licence Issue about nine HOT 2 CLOSED

Please mention a country that does not allow one to donate his work to the public domain. Really, I want to know.

I researched the subject but didn't come up with any such legislation. Anyway, I have added a LICENSE.rst file containing this text:

"I, the copyright holder of this work, hereby release it into the public domain. This applies worldwide.

"In case this is not legally possible, I grant any entity the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law."

Germany, for one, does not permit the author of a work protected by copyright to relinquish all their rights. (This is my country of residence, so I studied its laws a bit more in detail.)

Thanks for that file, it’s “probably” good enough, except that those people who really care about legal issues distinguish between “use” and “distribution”, “modification”, “public performance”, etc. so you probably should add a comment to the effect that it’s “fine to use any Open Source licence for it” or something like that.
