I can't really help without more information. What host are you connecting to? It seems like you are trying to connect to a host that isn't reachable.

i solved it by change the localhost to 127.0.0.1

i had the same issue. For me it was because i added the port, so I removed it.

Before:
var connection = mysql.createConnection({
host : '127.0.0.1:3306',
user : 'user',
password : 'pass'
});

After:
var connection = mysql.createConnection({
host : '127.0.0.1', // removed the port
user : 'user',
password : 'pass'
});

and now it works 👍
