So apparently, key condition expression and filter expression support different types of filters.
Key condition expression is basically a worse version of filter expression which only supports (=, <, <=, >, >=, BETWEEN).
The way "querying" works in dynamo:
- Match the hash_key
- Use the key condition expression (RCU consumed is calculated by this size)
- Use the filter expression to further refine result
- Result returned
You cannot use != in range key by design.
