None of this is valid CSS3. The asterisk is a hack to hide the rule from newer browsers and the filter
property is IE-only and also deprecated as of IE 9. These rules should be put in an old-IE-only stylesheet which can be included in conditional comments. Using hacks like these is very discouraged as it triggers lenient CSS parsing in browsers and I will not be modifying PHP-CSS-Parser to accommodate these.

that still doesnt help. the script should not abort but ignore those (or remove or whatever). its currently totally useless because every one of those 20 css files I tried failed just because some special tricks are not handled gracefully. :(

Then by all means, fork the repository and create your lenient parser. It’s just not a use case I’ve ever come across and I’m not willing to maintain this much code that I’m never going to use.
