I like the idea. I would like to shift the architecture of JIM for the next major release to are more plugin-like architecture. Because of this, I'd like to implement this functionality as an addon which can be enabled and disabled by the administrator of the bot. I'm not sure if this feature will be implemented in the current version of JIM or if it will be implemented in the next major version because of the total rework of the plugin system

You mean like a server side plugin? Would that still require chromium? It feels like quite a resource hog for a music bot.

Less related but im a beginner programmer, and i (relatively) recently started learning c++ in my own time. But might try js/ts too, hopefully i will be able to help in the future.

It is a resource hog indeed. For this reason, I recently decided to rewrite JIM entirely. This Repository will be archived within the next days and a new one will be created. The transition to the new Musicbot could take some weeks until it is working properly however. The plugin system still has to be defined, but will be written entirely in TS/JS. More details will be provided once I have the initial prototype ready.

The underlying changes have been implemented, the only thing holding me back to merge the changes is my weak understanding of the jitsi-low-level api, see here
