The issue could be that you're opening too many files for it to handle quickly enough. It currently just stores everything in a file, which isn't the most efficient thing ever. I have a few questions that should help confirm that this is or isn't the issue.
- How many files is several and about how long are they?
- Are you just finishing an edit and then closing?
- If you wait a while after an edit and try closing, does it save everything?
- If you go to
~/.atom/packages/save-session/projects
, is a path to your project there? - If yes, can you open the
project.json
file (not in Atom) and let me know if it is blank or has contents? - If it is blank, try deleting it and see if that helps.
Also, the tree view is not restored by Save Session yet, so that must be something else.

Hello,
sorry for my late answer!
I'm behind a proxy and install/update of Atom and its packages are not very
simple! But I've finally found how to do update with modifying .apmrc file
in chocolatey directory which changes every time I do an update of atom...
So I run now Atom 0.138.0 and Save Session 0.9.0 and everything is ok!
Thanks for your support,
Fabien
