Maybe jpm should add the @jetpack suffix like cfx does? No strong opinion, but that's another option. Feel free to repurpose the issue as you feel appropriate.

@DavidBruant this is on purpose, because we think less magic leads to better understanding of what is going on, and improves the chances of interoperability with node's npm.
but an explicit suggestion in the error message to "add @jetpack to your id" is a good idea..

The validation messages is handled in jetpack-validation -- does this new message sound good?
