I'm also having the same issue with the same error. I also tried to convert a gguf model file and received a different error.

The example has been tested with Llama v1 7B but the fixes to the weight converter should be fairly easy to do.

For the above error, changing value.numpy() to value.float().half().numpy() would work but it would set the weight to float16. The reason is that numpy doesn't support bfloat16.

  1. The BF16 issue is fixed in main.
  2. Converting sharded models is not supported yet, but we should add that. Marking this as duplicate with #35 which we can use for this feature.
