Wget doesn't work on Windows 8 about mamehub HOT 14 CLOSED

What happens when you run the wget.exe from windows? Sometimes you can get
a more detailed error box that way

Same thing. I downloaded csume manually so hopefully even though I can't update I can still play.

You will still need to run the updater or manually do a 'git pull' so that you get the latest changes.

Also, try to get the latest wget and run that, maybe my version is too old to support windows 8: http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/wget.htm

latest version does the same thing, I tried letting it go through the firewall and as administrator but no go, same vague error.

Ugh. Can you try downloading the source from that same site and building a
windows 8 version?

This today, I am downloading the csume64 for windows now manually

The updater downloads csume64 but it also runs "git pull" in the base directory, so you will have to do that step manually too.

I tried to compile wget many more times and just can't get it to work. It fails at the configure part (after 45 minutes):
