Will there be a new gem version for this? There doesn't seem to be new releases since 3.0.pre and I still get the warning.

Use the "rails3" branch from git. Bundler lets you do this easily:

gem "will_paginate", :git => "<repo url>", :branch => "rails3"

The "pre2" version is out for a long time now, so git dependency isn't needed in Gemfile.
