The code should compile with any standard compiler.

As I have already stated- "I have also made some nonsense changes in the code", those errors you getting are the result of this change. If you know C, you should be able to easily detect and remove them. Moreover, I have put marks ( 😄 ) there too.

+1 for "i am a newbies and want to get my hand dirty", and I myself am no expert either! Let me know how much your hands got dirty. Happy coding!

The mistakes are the kind of thing you learn on your first day of freshman programming class. Given a little research and some effort i'm sure you'll find what you're looking for, but if you can't break this code down then you probably shouldn't have it in the first place.

You should stop complaining and learn to fix the code. If any of you had made any effort at all in finding the bugs (Which actually come with a hint in the source code) you would already have it running. Looking at the trace returned by the compiler says the entire story too?

@ MinhasKamal Could you please point out the nonsense changes to the code, us newbies are finding a hard time.

I'm using Windows 10 in VC++

On compiling INFECT The header file <windows.h> is not able to be included.
I thought must be due to a different version of the compiler so i removed the '.h' and tried again but no result ,same error again.
same for the header file.
I then headed to the class library section and found that the windows.h header file was missing.
I tried adding it manually but still doesn't works.

I compiled all the cpps and placed all the files in one folder as shown in the pictures. Then I ran trojancockroach.exe. In the USB drive I can see one folder named "TrojanCockroach" but I do not see any other file besides that (the shortcut is missing).

Another issue is that the shortcut "trojancockroach.lnk" does not copy itself to the startup folder.

I am using Windows 7 in VMware to test this program.

@max1m0u5 I used this project a long time ago. However there were some mistakes like I pointed out in this thread before.
If your code is not compiling, I think he just commented out some brackets and even added smily faces in front of them.

So do I need to know C++ to use this? I'm kind of a beginner at programming so I haven't gotten around to learning any C yet.

@Busy-box & @SpontaneousCookie You will have to have at least a basic knowledge of C for running the code successfully. Sorry, cannot help you there.

I recently started the course and I'm having a hard time finding gaps like those exposed by the author @MinhasKamal, could they help me with this process in making the files executable or teach me with this example?

I started studying at usp (university of sao paulo) and I have several difficulties in the programming areas.

@MinhasKamal compiled, started, got an email too; but then it just stopped, no response at all. I've reduced the computer start time from 20 to 2, so that i can get the mail in a close frequent...

Hard to say why that may have happened. If the user does not shutdown the computer, rather hibernates, then that will not be counted.

If it is running in your computer, then please go through the code again and see if you missed any thing.
