Certain header field names are all lower case about mail HOT 5 CLOSED

I've just upgraded to 2.2.6.1 and the problem is still there. All non-standard headers are still in all lowercase. Have these patches really been merged?

I can see that this bug still exists on 2.5.4. Instead of In-Reply-To the header is in-reply-to and instead of References the header is references.

However, the problem has to be with the assignment version of setting values to mail:

mail.in_reply_to = '123' 

ends up in a lower case header, whereas

mail['In-Reply-To'] 

works ok.

I believe that this issue should be reopened.
