How does one create a build definition through the C# Client Library? about vsts-rest-api-specs HOT 4 CLOSED

Accessing Azure Devops with .Net client library is a nightmare. I never touched anything so poorly documented and explained

1. That looks like a really old version of the contract. Newer versions don't have Steps, they have a list of Phases. The latest docs are here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/vsts/build/definitions/get?view=vsts-rest-5.0

2. You don't need to set the lists. You'll note that they are never null (they're created on first access) so you can simply add to them:

var definition = new BuildDefinition();
definition.Steps.Add(new BuildDefinitionStep() { ... });
