Search based on temporal extent not working? about planetary-computer-apis HOT 3 CLOSED

Thanks for this report @m-mohr. I can confirm that search parameters on the /item endpoint are not currently working as expected. Note for you or others trying to use this GET syntax while we investigate a fix, that the GET /search endpoint is working as expected, e.g.:

@m-mohr After looking into this behavior, search params on the {collection}/items endpoint are optional per the STAC specification and the feature is not currently implemented in stac-fastapi. For now, we're likely to invest in improvements to CQL2 variants on the /search endpoint but may get this feature if there's a contribution to the upstream project.

As you are exposing the conformance class http://www.opengis.net/spec/ogcapi-features-1/1.0/conf/core, bbox and datetime are not optional as per the OGC API - Features spec.
But indeed, that's an upstream issue: stac-utils/stac-fastapi#380
