Clarification sought from BIPM, ETA after 2020-01-05.

Notice that the math formulas and values are not bolded like the outside text, because the math formulas and values are encoded as MathML for semantic reasons. In the document, all MathML gets rendered using a math renderer which uses a consistent style.

In order to make them bold, we would either have to:
a) alter the semantic math formulas to make them bold β€œinside” of the MathML encoding. This has the side effect of polluting the math encoding.
b) Alter the rendering behavior of the semantic math based on contextual formatting (i.e. surrounding text is bold, so math gets bolded). This is very difficult and in fact will cause uncommon problems: e.g. if the math encoding already specifies using bold fonts, what happens when it is surrounded by bold text, i.e. bold + bold = ?.

Suggestion: for consistency and readability it may be better to keep the current arrangement?

From BIPM:

The situation is similar as for issue 97 above: Printing a document using a text editor gives more flexibility (and possibility for inconsistency) than creating it from a set of rules. This is not a major issue, and could be kept as it is.

So there's nothing to fix here. Closing.
