It should be fixed now (didn't have an OSX machine handy to test, though). Please try it out.
The reason some of the unit tests are failing on OSX is that it runs them with the XCode backend. Some functionality is missing there, such as generating source files with custom targets, for the simple reason that XCodeproject's conf file syntax is madness and I haven't deciphered yet how you should do this with it. If you run them with the Ninja backend they should work.
