Have you tried what it suggests -- running bundle exec rake spec
Seems to be because you have an old version of gemcutter installed.

i did. same results. i have the latest gemcutter installed, but i also have the older ones still available:
$ gem list --local | grep gemc
gemcutter (0.6.1, 0.5.0, 0.3.0)
unless 0.6.1 is not the latest...
anyway i uninstalled the older versions and it went through this time.
(should'nt it have picked the latest available?)

I'm closing this - gemcutter isn't needed any more anyway as the commands are merged into rubygems
