Hi there 👋

I am a Lecturer in Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.

🔭 I am interested in understanding the complexity of computation with imprecisely specified numbers with application to structural reliability and machine learning.

I am also interested in: mathematics-based artwork, computer-aided proofs, physics informed neural networks, web-based research software.

🎓 I hold a PhD in engineering from the University of Liverpool.

📫 You can reach me by email at marco.de-angelis📧strath.ac.uk

Bring data to life with SVG, Canvas and HTML. :bar_chart::chart_with_upwards_trend::tada:

gaussian-process-sparsegp-tutorial icon gaussian-process-sparsegp-tutorial

A tutorial-style introduction to Sparse Variational Gaussian Process regression. It comes with some example code, written in Python, that is free and should be relatively easy to use. The code is by no-means optimised, rather, it is supposed to be easy to read and easy to understand for someone who is new to Sparse GPs.

Code library for reliability analysis with *line sampling*.

recurrent neural network lstm

pba icon pba

Probability bounds analysis

puffin icon puffin

Engineers often recognise the advantages of applying uncertainty analysis to their complex simulations, they often lack the time, patience or expertise to undertake that analysis. We describe a software tool, named puffin, that takes existing code and converts in to uncertainty aware code in the same language making use of intrusive uncertainty propagation techniques. It can work either automatically or with user specification of the uncertainties involved in the system.
