This was intentional. The reasoning for Styles not declaring 'name' was that Style objects do not actually have names in Mapnik's internal object model. Styles only referenced by names stored on the Map object. In terms of FontSets, I do not see a usecase for describing them in mapnik-reference.
That said, if you think there is some use to continuing to describe these things in mapnik-reference, we can add them back. There just needs to be a clear use.
