Can you reproduce this issue with a minimal app and check it in to github?

Perhaps under Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, in the category 'Security', the 'Enable DOM Storage' is not checked.

Ah, I see.
The new version (just landed some minutes ago) prevents this issue. It uses sessionStorage by default and only assigns it when its available. Can you give it a try.
Oh, please have a look at the section "breaking changes" in the readme. There are not many, but some have been necessary in order to align with the official specs.
