This means that the transcoder wasn't able to spawn the ffmpeg binary. Make sure that ffmpeg is in the PATH environment variable of the user you are running the transcoder as, or specify an absolute path to ffmpeg in your config file. Are you using a config file?

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes I am now using a congfig file when I start codem and I have put the path to ffmpeg into it and this has made the spawn error go away. I did have a problem getting it to talk to the DB but I have got past that now and it is accepting jobs and I have managed to get it to transcode a MOV file of a Zoom camera. I do have a problem with a Flip camera MP4 - codem says it cant read the file - but I guess that down to the ffmpeg build?

Yes, that it mostly likely due to an unsupported codec. You can try and transcode it from the command line using ffmpeg. If that fails it is most likely due to that. Codem also logs the error message from ffmpeg, so you may be able to see what's going on there.

If you still want to use mysql you can use the mysql@~2.0.0-alpha7 package. Codem relies on Sequelize for the database adapters, so any database that is supported by Sequelize should be supported.
