One Suggestion: When a person follows someone else; consider adding their avatar so the person being followed can see who it is.
Something for the team to consider: I think this is a decent idea, if it is not to complex, however, I would not want an email with a random image. If there was some way to pull in a professional image of every employee, it might be worth looking at this suggestion

Another suggestion is to have the ability to post to a stream via email. There would be challenges due to character limits.
