Hey @ethib137 Can this scenario happen? I think that in a real scenario and because this is a navigation component there will always be an active item, so I'm wondering if we should cover this use case if there is no active state.

Hey @matuzalemsteles , yes this is the scenario that takes place when assigning permissions to a role. The vertical nav is filterable to make it easier to find the set of permissions you are looking for. As a result the currently active nav item may be hidden, which causes there to not be any way to focus the vertical nav. Note: Currently it's not using the Clay vertical nav but this PR will migrate it to that.
