Thanks for the report. I've committed a patch that should handle Windows compilation issues. Unfortunately, I do not have a Windows box to test/try. Would you mind pulling from github and give it a go?
If everything works out, I'll make a new hackage release. Let me know if you cannot pull from github for any reason.

Sure! Everything works like a charm :-) Woot!
I'll test it on a board sometime this week.
Btw, you are the first person who fixed their haskell code at my request of it not working in windows.

Wonderful. If you don't mind, I'll re-open the ticket till you get a chance to actually run something on a board; just to make sure it does work properly.
On Windows, I think you need to install Arduino drivers first. Then put the StandardFirmata program on the Arduino. And make sure you call the "withArduino" function with the port "COM3", or whatever COM port you've connected your Arduino to.
Looking forward to hearing what you find out.

Just got my hands on a Windows machine; and I was able to run the blink example without any problems. A new release is pushed to hackage (http://hackage.haskell.org/package/hArduino-0.6). Do let me know if you have any issues running the code.
