I literally just copied your code on my Apple M1 mac running go1.18.5, and got:
re: Basepoint, please see my comment here:
I googled for "golang x25519 Basepoint" and quickly found out that Basepoint was added about 2 years ago, which can only mean that your environment is picking up an antiquated version of x25519 package while compiling. This in turn made me think you're building this in a non-modern or non-standard way, and thus led me to guess my initial diagnosis.

That could be the problem. The project uses bazel and gazelle.

Perhaps the solution is to update go to a newer version. At least we have something to work with.

I have no clue how to use bazel / gazelle, so I can't be of help there.
The only other advise that I can (blindly) give you is to perhaps run go mod tidy
.

So out of curiosity, on my M1 mac I cloned the verti-go repo, installed bazel, and tried building bazel build gazelle
. It ran without any errors.
How do I go about reproducing this error?

That probably means the cause is a version issue of some kind related to go, bazel, or gazelle. My go, bazel and gazelle was installed over two years ago. I haven't touched this project in a while about a year but now am starting back on it with other priorities out of the way. The aws default authorizer has been fine but this authorizer and the other one will be necessary going forward. So I'll see what I can do and post back. Hopefully I figure it out. I haven't wrote go in about a year so I'm still going through a period relearning some of this stuff.
