By default macOS Calendar sync only every 15 minutes. But you can reduce this interval to 1 minute in Calendar.app preferences: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/calendar/icl1024/mac

I found out that the problem was with the macOS Calendar app. It somehow got out of sync after restoring a TimeMachine backup.
I'm using a different app to check my calendar (Spark) and I didn't notice this fact at first.

Wouldn't it be great to directly link it to Google Calendar?

Unfortunately, this is not easy to do.
Rewriting the data source is not a big problem, but all the security nuances that Makos takes on are the biggest part of the job.

I'm using Google Calendar here and MeetingBar is saying I've got a meeting, a meeting that I don't have anymore in my calendar. It sounds like it does not refresh enough or it displays cancelled events.

Any idea?
