I haven't found any place to indicate I would like to be notified of responses to the issue I posted (or other issues that might interest me). I therefore assume any comments to this posting will automatically generate an email to my GitHub subscriber address. Am I correct?

Did you try to install it in your 'user library'?
- From the Live Browser, head to your "User Library". and create a folder "Remote Scripts"
- Right click this folder and select "show in finder/explorer".
- Copy there the ClyphX folder from the ZIP.

As you can tell, everything I had been doing thus far was in my Windows System!
Per your directions, I created a folder in the (Ableton) Live browser; and created a folder called “Remote Scripts”. (Actually I Rename(d) the default “New Folder” (and noticed another ‘New Folder’ was immediately created!)
As soon as I did that, ‘Remote Scripts’ showed up (Collections/Name) with ClyphX-2.7.3 and then ClyphX as subfolders. Clicking on the ClyphX Directory arrow revealed nothing even though the actual folder contains 36 *.py files (init.py to PushEmuHandler.py).
As soon as I right clicked the folder and selected “Show in Explorer” I noticed it contained ClyphX-2.7.3/ClyphX/License, README.md, and reference.md.
THEN
I brought up (Ableton Live) Preferences
ClyphX still doesn’t show up as a Control Surface!
Should ClyphX items show up when the arrow next to Remote Scripts/ClyphX-2.7.3/ClyphX is clicked?
Should ClyphX be selectable as a Control Surface?

When you click on your User Library do you see something like this?
In my case I have multiple versions of ClyphX, but if you simply unzip the zip in 'Remote Scripts' you should see the ClyphX directory, and then it should be selectable as a control surface (maybe after a Live restart)

yes the script can be installed in 'User Library/Remote Scripts' or in X:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live x.x\Resources\MIDI Remote Scripts\ but the 1st solution is best now
