LT works with error patterns, so it will only find errors for which a pattern exists. Usually, if an error is not found that's because no pattern for it exists. We're looking pull requests that add more rules. Here's a description of how to write such rules: http://wiki.languagetool.org/development-overview#toc0

I added a rule for "The red dogs barks" and "The dog eat". However, "The dog bark" was a hard case because "bark" could be a noun, so the grammatical analysis removes its analysis as a verb, so this phrase is not treated like a sentence but as a noun phrase. This way we avoid of many false alarms. I made an experiment to restrict this disambiguation rule a bit but we'll see if it's a good decision by looking at results from the corpus soon.
