This is expected, Tolerance is not passed in, how was that working before ?
You should have something like:

.addFunction("Equals", [](const Transform* c, const Transform& Other) -> bool {} )

if you expect to call R1:Equals(R2) from lua. I would expect that a missing parameter should raise a bad arg.

Or alternatively, you should call like: R1:Equals(R2, nil)

I am sorry. I have a different spec for optional. LUA_TNONE is a valid input for my optional. I just forgot to provide the spec template in this test project.

Please reopen the other issue, it's hard to keep track of things if they are constantly mixed up

If i modify LuaBridge3 optional stack specialization, it works for me #76
