Sorry but this is not a lua constant, this is adding a lua variable that can be modified from either lua and c++. Consider this snippet:
enum class A { x = 0, y = 1 };
luabridge::getGlobalNamespace(L)
.beginNamespace("A")
.addVariable("x", A::x)
.addVariable("y", A::y)
.endNamespace();
runLua("A.x = 1; result = A.x");
ASSERT_EQ(A::x, static_cast<A>(result<int>())); // this will fail... oops !
To add a real constant you need to use:
enum class A { x = 0, y = 1 };
luabridge::getGlobalNamespace(L)
.beginNamespace("A")
.addProperty("x", +[] { return A::x; })
.addProperty("y", +[] { return A::y; })
.endNamespace();
runLua("A.x = 1; result = A.x"); // fails to compile, A.x is not writable.
