New syntax and a simpler algorithm used in ebe3da5.
The new syntax introduces omitted content using ...?
(optional) and ...
(one or more) and replaces quantifiers and fragments with optional/non-optional repeated patterns (...?)
and (...)
, where any args to the "function calls" are treated as nodes of the repeated pattern. A quantifier is therefore - in this new syntax - simply a repeated pattern with a single ?variable
node.
Rather than limiting fragments to a single <>
entry, repeated patterns conjoin collections of matched nodes separately under each variable name in the created bindings, e.g. the repeated pattern (... ?x ?y ?z)
applied on on the nodes [1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9]
will create the bindings:
{?x [1 4 7]
?y [2 5 8]
?z [3 6 9]}
And when these bindings are applied to that same pattern, [1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9]
will be recreated.

Currently, repeated patterns do not support variables lengths (omitted content) or embedded quantifiers. This is different from how fragments worked.
On the other hand, the code seems less buggy now, although there is a bit of undefined behaviour left. Still need to work on rewriting the documentation too.
