Just change the version to v1.15.1 and you are good to go it was completely okay (with latest kubespray version)

That's not true. There's multiple CRD changes in v1.14 and later, e.g. for their BGP control-plane to work.

I updated the manifests in my own repo here: mkroman@d19fdc1

But I broke compatibility with the conditionals for earlier versions in the templates because maintaining it that way seems like a bad idea.

And Kubespray at the latest version supports up to 1.14.x
But I was completely Ok with 1.15.1
