You have to use the cropperProxy.
If you read demo.js code you will find a scope function called 'clear' which checks for the existence of the proxy, then uses it to call the plugin method 'clear'.
Just found myself trying to access zoom method.

You have to call methods of cropper using proxy.
Ex: $scope.cropper.first('zoom',0.1);
from ngcropper.
