Yes.
$ sudo useradd -m -G admin test
$ sudo passwd test
Password: test
Again: test
$ sudo vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config
# set challengeresponse/password to yes
$ sudo service ssh restart
$ exit
# cluster.yml
#user: vagrant
user: test
role: master
#ssh_key_path: ~/.vagrant.d/insecure_private_key
$ kupo up
==> master: 192.168.100.100

# enter the password and it continues
But unless you set up a) password login as root or b) passwordless sudo, it will fail because sudo prompts for password / fails.

Sudo password does not.
