Turns out that contrary to what I remembered, HOOK_MAX
was set to 64, so the savings here are a lot higher!
Linked lists will use less memory as long as we have less than 32 hooks. Even I don't have that many, and I'm using most of the available plugins, and adding a few hooks of my own, too. So the memory savings will be noticable by everybody.

This is obsolete, the solution used in #276 is far superior. A similar approach can be taken in Focus too, at some point. Instead of linked lists replacing static arrays, we should use the design from there.
