I'd like to offer an observation: I think the dotnet add/remove/list commands feel a bit clumsy. I find the the dotnet tool install/uninstall
command set feels more intuitive. I believe this was previously dotnet install tool
at some point, so it might be interesting to know the rationale behind that change, because it makes the tool commands inconsistent with these other dotnet commands.
Essentially this is the difference between:
program [verb] [noun]
and
program [noun] [verb]
Looking at it this way a class/method design would provide a very direct mapping for structuring areas of command, or sub-commands (not really sure what the correct nomenclature is). I understand that changing the existing dotnet commands isn't an option, but the System.CommandLine libraries design could help guide developers to use the more intuitive pattern.
Admittedly, this is based on my personal opinion, so take it for what it is.
