Whether you do a git pull or download ZIP, you must go to the directory where the code is stored. If you use windows, double-clicking tdm.py should open the application. Of course if all the dependencies are satisfied.

Python is already there, you install the dependencies exactly the same.
Then you open the terminal and cd into the directory when you cloned (or unzipped) the repo. Inside you issue command:
python3 tdm.py

Hi, I use a raspberry without any screen or keyboard attached. All is done via the webgui and Putty. Is there a way to use tdm via a webgui or putty?

No web UI. And since TDM is a GUI, a terminal session (putty) is not sufficient.

Is your installation "full" Raspbian? You can enable VNC and reach your headless Pi Desktop GUI remotely. There you can invoke the TDM GUI.
