POP3/SMTP passwords corrupted? about dada-mail HOT 4 CLOSED

Here's the quick-fix I'm telling people (this WILL REMOVE the 2-way encryption and save your passwords for POP/SMTP stuff in clear text. Your list password will still be in a one-way hash+salt)

You can try removing the encryption of these saved passwords in the dada/DADA/Security/Password.pm module.

Find:

sub cipher_encrypt {

my $cs = Crypt::CipherSaber->new($key);
return $cs->encrypt($str);
}

sub cipher_decrypt {
my ($key, $str) = @_;
require Crypt::CipherSaber;
my $cs = Crypt::CipherSaber->new($key);
return $cs->decrypt($str);
}

Change them to,

sub cipher_encrypt {
my ($key, $str) = @_;
return $str;
}

sub cipher_decrypt {
my ($key, $str) = @_;
return $str;
}

You'll have to re-save the info on the Dada Bridge control panel, but after that, give it a shot,

This may be because the encrypted password should be treated as binary information, instead of text, that should be UTF-8 encoded/decoded.
