@xxx Maybe the note should say "This handler is not called for cross-domain script and cross-domain JSONP requests" so that it's clear that "cross-domain" modifies both "script" and "JSONP." Would that help make things more clear?
@MoOx Sorry, but I'm having a hard time parsing your comment. If there is a problem with the documentation ( for .ajaxError()? ), can you please identify the problem explicitly?

Here http://api.jquery.com/ajaxError/ there is nothing that tell that this callback is not executed for jsonp timeout or error...
