Rofi launches on top of gtklock about gtklock HOT 3 CLOSED

I think this has to do with layer_shell layers... gtklock uses the overlay layer. IFAIK rofi isn't a native wayland client so it may cause issues.

Can you give some info about your setup? Such as compositor and any options and configs for gtklock.

Once I'm able to test again I'll try replicating on my system...

I'm using sway and this fork of rofi:

This fork is made to work with wayland.

I have no config for gtklock, just some css.

You can reproduce it like this:
Give rofi a keybinding, like Mod+P
And then gtklock, Mod+L

If you press Mod+P and then Mod+L without closing rofi, it will stay on top of gtklock.

Folks of the swaylock have fixed this (at least they say they did but it's not fixed for now) with swaylock version 1.6.10. I don't know how but I can share the issue with you. Just wanted to try it if this bug/feature exist in the gtklock too and yes it does.

This issue is a limitation of using layer-shell and input-inhibitor, so only solution is to implement #53. For this reason I am closing this issue.
