@kaciula This would make an awesome example for the README.. Here's what you need to do:
@Parcel
public class JodaExample {
@ParcelPropertyConverter(JodeDateTimeConverter.class)
DateTime dateTime;
}
public class JodeDateTimeConverter implements ParcelConverter<DateTime> {
@Override
public void toParcel(DateTime time, android.os.Parcel parcel) {
parcel.writeLong(time.getMillis());
}
@Override
public DateTime fromParcel(android.os.Parcel parcel) {
return new DateTime(parcel.readLong());
}
}
from parceler.
Worth noting, this example @ParcelPropertyConverter
requires a @ParcelProperty
annotation. We removed this requirement in 0.2.14-SNAPSHOT.

Thanks for the response. With 0.2.13 it seems to work great just as it is without adding a @ParcelProperty
annotation.

Fantastic. One wrinkle, could your DateTime
ever be null
?
from parceler.
In my case, DateTime will never be null. I guess that if it can be null, I should use @ParcelProperty
also? Or wait for the official 0.2.14.
from parceler.
ok... That brings a thought to mind, I should put together a nullable decorator converter.
FWIW here's what a nullable DateTime converter would look like:
public class NullableJodeDateTimeConverter implements ParcelConverter<DateTime> {
@Override
public void toParcel(DateTime time, android.os.Parcel parcel) {
if (time == null) {
parcel.writeInt(-1);
} else {
parcel.writeInt(1);
parcel.writeLong(time.getMillis());
}
}
@Override
public DateTime fromParcel(android.os.Parcel parcel) {
int nullCheck = parcel .readInt();
DateTime result;
if (nullCheck < 0) {
result = null;
} else {
result = new DateTime(parcel.readLong());
}
return result;
}
}
If not using @ParcelProperty
works for you, then you certainly don't need it. Thinking about it, I may have fixed it and released that fix in a previous release (0.2.13?).
